I come bearing news of a great contest being run by our Affiliates, WritersInk! The theme is fairytales, with a particular focus on the use of allegory, and some absolutely breathtaking prizes... More information and some helpful articles about allegory can be found here!

Contest closes on June 10th 2014, EST Both poetry and prose are allowed Mature content is permitted (as long as it's appropriately labelled!) Prizes include: points, features, critiques and commissions, with three prize positions up for grabs!Rules
You must be a member of WritersInk Entries must state that they are part of WritersInk's The Moral of the Story contest in the artists' description Poetry limits: minimum 10 lines / maximum 50 lines (line count must be included in the artists' description) Prose limits: minimum 1500 words / maximum 3000 words (word count must be included in the artists' description) One entry per person Submissions must adhere to the theme and requirements! We hope to see many of you participating!

The End and A Fresh Start
Hi, everyone. This probably won't come as a shock to many given the group's largely inactive recent history, but the time has at long last come for me to say goodbye.
When I founded DeviantLITERATURE (https://www.deviantart.com/deviantliterature) it was with the hope of creating a home on dA for writers to commune and share their work, as well as to expose themselves to the work of others. I felt that DeviantART lacked a respect for the work of writers, and wanted to try and change things. However, life got in the way of my admittedly grandiose plans, and I was forced to take a 10 month Hiatus from November of last year. This summer I had intended to get back into things and revamp
Help Wanted!
As you may have noticed, recently your deviations have been sitting with us for ages before we accept them, sometimes until they expire.
But fear not! We aren't a dying group. Your deviations aren't being abducted by alien lions from Pluto. We're just a little understaffed. At the moment, the two people who accept deviations seems to be me and our illustrious leader 91816119 (https://www.deviantart.com/91816119), who seems to be a little busy with real life at the moment.

Once again, we have left you hanging somewhat and for this I can only humbly apologise. However, we have lots of news for everyone to munch on, some sad and some promising new horizons for DeviantLITERATURE (https://www.deviantart.com/deviantliterature)!
