RULES

Thought we should get them up, so here they are. Please read the rules before joining.

Who can join?
:bulletblue: Anyone who writes, or is looking for some literature to read!

Submissions.
:pointr: General:
:bulletblue: You can only submit to the DeviantLITERATURE gallery once you're a member.
:bulletblue: When you're a member, you are allowed to submit up to two deviations a day.
:bulletblue: All submissions must be literature only.
:bulletblue: Please do not submit advertisements. This means no Commission Lists, Competitions, etc. If you are seen to do this, you will be given a warning. A second time, and you could be banned from the group.
:bulletblue: We expect you to submit to the correct folder to the best extent you can. The folders are: Poetry, Prose - Fiction, Prose - Non-Fiction, Prose - Chapters, Foreign Languages, Mature Content and Other. If you are unsure where your submission goes, put it into Other, and we'll move it appropriately.

:pointr: How to submit to the gallery:
:bulletblue: Click the 'Join our Group' button and then refresh the page. You will now see in the button's place a 'Contribute' button. Click this. You will be taken to the Gallery, and a window with your work shall come up to allow you to select which piece you want to send to us. Choose one. Now look up to the top of that window, and you will see a small drop down menu saying 'Submitting to:'. Click on the drop down menu and select the appropriate folder for your piece. Done!

:pointr: Quality of work:
:bulletblue: Generally, all work is accepted. Your work may be declined if you have not adhered to the rules rather than the actual quality of your piece. The group is here to support all writers, and for writers to get together and grow as a community, so beginners to professionals are all welcome.
:bulletblue: While a preview image is always a nice bonus with literature, we do encourage that you make it clear that your piece is writing and not a photo/painting, etc. and, more importantly, that you remember all preview images must have credit given to the artist in the description.

:pointr: Mature Content:
:bulletblue: All work with a Mature Content rating of +18 must be submitted to the Mature Content gallery.
:bulletblue: Pieces with Mature Content are assessed by the administrators when they are pending approval, and so we ask for you to please keep it within reason, so that means no pornographic pieces, etc. If you are unsure, don't hesitate to note the group.

Affiliations.
:bulletblue: If you have a group you wish to affiliate with us, go right on ahead! We have a strong idea of inter-group support, promoting our affiliates as and when asked and expecting similar services in return.
:bulletblue: If you own a group that is already affiliated with us and have something (e.g. a contest) to promote, note the group, and we will get back to you!

Behaviour.
:bulletblue: We ask that you please be respectful to all members of the group, and keep the comments clean. The admins will report any misconduct according to DeviantART's policies, or our own perceptions of inappropriate behaviour.
:bulletblue: Please do not advertise on any part of our group unless you have explicit permission from one of the Co-Founders or the Founder.

Issues.
When rules are broken in the group, we do have some punishment policies:
:bulletblue: Submissions of anything other than literature will result in you receiving a warning. If you receive three warnings, you will be banned from the group.
:bulletblue: Any form of bullying, abuse or disrespect that has been reported will be punished severely, whether it be by being banned from the group, or being reported to DeviantART (which can result in your barring from the website itself).

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

"I submitted artwork a long time ago and it's still pending, what's going on?" or "My submission expired. Why is this?"
All submissions have two weeks of 'pending' in which the Administrators of the group vote on whether or not your artwork should be included in our gallery. At the two week mark, your submission expires. As it stands, nearly every single piece submitted is accepted, with very few exceptions.
All the members of the team involved with accepting/declining submissions have very busy lives outside of DeviantART, and it can sometimes be difficult to keep everything running smoothly. We do our best, but if you work has expired, it is likely to mean that we simply haven't had time to get through the backlog. If this is the case, please resubmit and hopefully we'll make sure it gets through the system this time around!

"My submission was declined. What does this mean?"
When a submission is declined, the likelihood is that you will get a message on the 'deviation submission process' page from one of the admins, telling you why. Usually these problems involve submitting to wrong gallery folders (etc.), however, if you are unsure as to why esactly your deviation was rejected, don't hesitate to ask. The team is happy to give you a more detailed explanation.

"There haven't been any blog entries for weeks...is everything still up and running?"
Never fear! We try to keep your inboxes nice and clean and prevent you from getting spam-filled journal entries. For this reason, we only post blogs when there is sufficient information to be shared with the members.

"Can I join the Administration team?"
At the moment, we have no positions open, but if any do come up, there will be a journal with details for how to apply!

"Can I affiliate my group with you?"
We accept incoming affiliations with other literature groups, or groups that have a strong literature community only.

"I'm only a beginner - does this mean I can still join?"
Absolutely! We're a group for people with a passion for writing, regardless of ability. We'll use our discretion for submissions to the group as a general rule, but we do like to see new faces and it's always a joy to see someone grow into their full potential! So don't be afraid to use the more senior members of the group such as the Contributors as a support group for your queries or worries concerning writing.

"My question isn't on here!"
Then note us!

Thank you for reading, and enjoy your time here! :salute:

Hello,

I just want to make sure about one of the rules.  It says I can only submit literature only.  So, if I draw and have a story with the picture, I can't submit it, right?  If so, do you know of an affiliate where I can do that?  Thanks for taking the time to read my concern and I hope you have a wonderful day. :)
